Installing a USB to Serial Adapter
Make sure that you have the disk supplied wit the USB to Serial Adapter to hand . Read the documentation supplied with the adapter before starting the installation. Below is an example of an installation .
Plug the USB-Serial cable into a USB port. After a few seconds, Windows will detect the new hardware and start the wizard to install the correct drivers.
If prompted, do not search the internet for new drivers.
If offered the choice, it is best to specify the location for the drivers rather than let Windows choose automatically.
Browse to the location that contains the required file(s) and then select OK.
Windows may warn you that the driver is not certified by Microsoft. This is not a problem, so click on Continue Anyway.
This will complete the installation. Windows will display a message on the taskbar telling you that the installation is complete and the new hardware is ready to use.
